Hydro Excavation

Hydro excavation is a non-mechanical, non-destructive, environmentally-friendly and cost-effective process that uses pressurized water and an industrial-strength vacuum to simultaneously excavate and evacuate soil. As hydro excavation safely breaks up soil, the soil and water slurry is conveyed by a vacuum to a debris tank.


Instead of manual or mechanical digging methods, hydro excavators use water to break up soil, and a vacuum to immediately evacuate the soil and water used.


Since hydro excavation uses no digging equipment with metal or sharp edges that penetrate the ground, there is virtually no risk of underground utility damage in utility location & exposure applications. Hydro excavation is also a great option for cold weather applications with frozen soil, as hydro excavation uses heated water, eliminating the opportunity for damage to traditional digging equipment due to soil conditions.


Hydro excavation can also happen remotely and is also extremely precise. It does not disturb any soil around the immediate excavation site. This results in safe, fast, cost-effective and precise excavations that require less backfill, labor, restoration and has less environmental impact than traditional excavation techniques.
